Ο παραπάνω σταθμός θα προσέθετε μία ακόμη οντότητα (ραδιοχώρα) στο ημερολόγιο σταθμού, πράγμα που δεν κατέστη δυνατόν. Αντ' αυτού προσθέσαμε μία νέα qrp συχνότητα με τον OD5ZZ στα 12M FT8. Κάτι είναι και αυτό με τις σημερινές συνθήκες διάδοσης.

Εμφανής η συνεχής πτώση της διάδοσης στους τελευταίους διαδοχικούς κύκλους. Δεν είναι για παράπονα απλά να το έχουμε υπόψη.

Subject: The urgent protection and perseveration of Haghia Sophia as a World Heritage monument being a fundamental component of inter-civilization mutual understanding.
Honourable Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos,
This letter is addressed to your esteemed office on behalf of the Ecumenical Federation of Constantinopolitans (EFC) which is the federative body of the expatriated Greek-Orthodox Community of Istanbul. Our Community members have against their will moved away from their native land, Istanbul and are now dispersed in various countries across the globe. This situation is the result of nationalistic and discriminatory policies drawn by and put into practice by successive Governments of the Republic of Turkey during the time period from 1955 to 2002. These undeniable facts have on numerous occasions been acknowledged by prominent members of the Government of Republic of Turkey since 2003, including in 2009 that time Prime Minister and now President of Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. R. T. Erdoğan in his Düzce speech and in April 2018 in a nationwide TV interview .
The EFC is an active member of the ECOSOC and is closely following the activities of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations since its inception in 2005, based on the initiative by the Prime Ministers of Turkey and Spain, Mr. R.T. Erdoğan and Mr. J.L.R. Zapatero. The Greek-Orthodox Community of Istanbul, being an autochthonous group of people who lived in a multicultural environment for many centuries, fully understands the high importance of UNAOC aims and initiatives.
In this context, we are convinced that one of the most significant indicators of mutual respect between civilizations is the respect towards historic monuments created by other civilizations, especially those which have lived in the past on the same land. More often than not, such monuments bear a highly symbolic meaning and therefore should be kept out of political controversies and interstate rivalries. The Haghia Sophia in Istanbul, a former Christian church and now a museum, is the epitome of this kind of monument.
Built in 525 AD, the Haghia Sophia has been used as a church for almost 1000 years, and then as a mosque for almost 500 years. In 1935 following the extensive restoration works with the contribution of the University of Princeton, USA, it was converted to a museum through a Decree of the then President of Turkey, Kemal Atatürk. Presently, and since 1985, Haghia Sophia - Ayasofya museum is among the most important UNESCO World Cultural Heritage monuments.
However, during the past few years, on numerous occasions, members of the Government of Republic of Turkey have suggested, most likely on grounds of internal political considerations, to reconvert Haghia Sophia to a mosque. Three historic churches, equally named Haghia Sophia, in Iznik- Nicaea (built in the 7th Century), in Trabzon (13th Century) and Enez (14th Century) have been converted to mosques, despite the lack of need for new mosques in these areas. These transformations have been endorsed by political statements that are far from serving a conciliatory process between religions and cultures.
In the past month, there has been an inauspicious severe escalation of the Haghia Sophia conversion issue with repeated calls for its conversion being launched again. There seems to be a general outcry among prominent politicians with particular references to the “right of conquest” of Istanbul in 29/5/1453.
We are certain that you share with us the assessment that similar actions fan the flames of radicalism and can further compromise the stability in our region, especially in this volatile moment. Unfortunately, religious fundamentalism regardless of religion and country, is a modern scourge that must be appropriately tackled. It is our firm conviction that the change of use of religious monuments is in full contradiction with the UNAOC principles and aims.
Bearing this in mind, we would like to propose that the Alliance of Civilizations undertakes initiatives on protecting the character of historic monuments with symbolic significance for the world civilization, in order to keep them clear of politics and religion. The historic monuments such as the Haghia Sophia of Istanbul – Αγία Σοφία Κωνσταντινουπόλεως and the Great Mosque of Córdoba - Mezquita Catedral de Córdoba, can be bridges of mutual understanding between various cultures and religions. We would be more than eager to converse with you on a prospective project on the issue of respect for Monuments of Civilizations. Holding an international conference on the protection of Byzantine and Ottoman era monuments in the Balkans, the Middle East and Caucasus regions or in the Mediterranean countries can serve as a launching event for this kind of UNAOC initiative.
